In re Y Trust v 2011 JLR 464 (07 July 2011)

Trusts-powers and duties of trustees-exercise of discretion-sanction of court-court may sanction trustee's "momentous decision" (e.g. distribution of trust assets) if (a) made in good faith; (b) reasonable; and (c) no conflict of interest-court to be cautious but not to withhold approval merely if would have decided differently itself-decision rational and sanctioned even if contrary to previous thinking (e.g. previous notional 50/50 division between settlor's sons but actual decision gives equal but less than 50% to sons and also distribution to grandchildren)
