    DECISION

  1. The title of the proceedings is amended to that now shown.
  2. Although the solicitors on record for the respondent did not appear at the hearing, they wrote to the Office of the Tribunals on 21 February 2008 stating that they consented to a judgment being made in this matter in favour of the claimant on liability only.
  3. The tribunal therefore declares that the complaint made under Article 217 of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 is well-founded, and it is ordered, by consent, that the respondent shall pay to the claimant remuneration for the protected period.
  4. The amount of the remuneration and the length of the protected period will be determined at a further hearing, notice of which will issue separately.
