DECISION

The decision of the tribunal is that the claimant is entitled to £4,270.00 in respect of statutory redundancy and £2,967.60 in respect of unpaid notice pay.

The claimant appeared in person and was not represented.

The respondent was represented by Mr J McClay, of McGreevy Turkington, Stockman, Accountants.


1. The claimant was employed by the respondent from 28 January 1994 to 16 July 2010 when her employment was terminated on the ground of redundancy. She was not given notice of termination or pay in lieu of notice.


2. The respondent did not dispute her claims and has paid £1,600.00 on account, being one payment of £1,500.00 and one payment of £100.00.


3. The claimant’s gross weekly pay was £305.00 and her net weekly pay was £247.30. She was 34 years of age at the date of termination and had worked for 16 complete years for the respondent.


4. The claimant statutory redundancy entitlement is:-


14 x £305.00 = £4,270.00


5. The claimant’s statutory minimum notice entitlement is:-


12 x £247.30 = £2,967.60


6. This is a relevant decision for the purposes of the Industrial Tribunals (Interest) Order (Northern Ireland) 1990.
