The President was of opinion that in case of a verbal injury, a recent acknowledgment begging pardon tollit injuriam; and in this case though the expressions were highly injurious, yet because of Fordyce's recent offers to make acknowledgments, the Lords remitted to the Commissaries to take his acknowledgments begging pardon signed by and thereon to assoilzie the defender.
