CRIMINAL LAW

The Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2006

  Made 21st February 2006 

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 89(2) and (3) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003[1], hereby make the following Order:

Citation and appointed day
     1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2006.

    (2) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 32 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003 is 2nd April 2006.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings section 32 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003 into force on 2nd April 2006. This section amends the Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993 (c.9), in connection with the release etc. of prisoners serving consecutive or concurrent offence and non offence terms of imprisonment or detention.
