    APPEARANCES

    For the Appellant The Appellant
    in person

    JUDGE D M LEVY QC

  1. Earlier today this matter was called on for hearing. The Appellant had shown in the documents that he was not attending this morning, accordingly the ELAAS representative who we understand had been contacted to assist him was stood down.
  2. In the event the Appellant attended and said he was waiting for the ELAAS representative, so we put back the case until he had had the opportunity of seeing that representative. Since then, several hours have passed and we understand the matter has been stood out for another day.
  3. We have been provided also with a copy of the judgment of the President on 24 October, where a number of appellants were before him in connection with cases arising from the Seymour Smith case and presently gave directions that all such cases should be listed for a Directions Hearing.
  4. The facts of this case show that some sort of directions are listed and rather therefore than Mr Bazil coming back a second time for a preliminary hearing, it would be desirable for the Tribunal to write to him in accordance with the judgment of the President, in the case which we have mentioned, so that the matter can hopefully be determined without too expensive or too strenuous a litigation.
