    APPEARANCES

For the Appellants No appearance or
    representation by or on
    behalf of the Appellants

    MR COMMISSIONER HOWELL QC

  1. This appeal is listed before us today for preliminary hearing of the Notice of Appeal dated 22 September 2000 by Mr Nazir Yaqub who is the manager of a newsagent's shop owned by a Mrs Samina Malik who was also named on the Tribunal's decision, although it appears that Mr Yaqub is the only named appellant on the Notice of Appeal before us.
  2. In any event, this Tribunal has received a communication from Mr Yaqub, on behalf of himself and Mrs Malik, informing the Tribunal that they are not intending to pursue the appeal any further, and recording that they hereby withdraw their appeal applications and assure this Tribunal that previous decision by that Employment Tribunal will be complied with, and the relatively small amount of money, directed by that Tribunal to be paid to one of their employees (a papergirl) will be now paid to her.
  3. In those circumstances, the appeal being withdrawn, we direct that no further steps should be taken on the appeal on this appeal file, it having been withdrawn by the Appellants.
