The complainant requested information in respect of companies and individuals that have approached HI Oxford & Thames Valley (HIOTV), in the field of medical technologies looking for support. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) refused the request citing sections 40(2) (personal information) and section 41 (information provided in confidence) of FOIA. The Commissioner's decision is that the Trust was entitled to refuse the information on the basis of section 41 of FOIA. This is because it's information that was provided in confidence, and the public interest favours maintaining the exemption in this case. No steps are required as a result of this decision.
