RA v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (Universal Credit) [2024] UKUT 207 (AAC) (15 July 2024)

Universal Credit awarded under "Trust and Protect" policy at start of Covid-19 pandemic and benefit awarded accordingly - failure of claimant to later verify identify not, without more, a ground for revising awarding decision under regulation 9(b) of the Universal Credit (Decisions & Appeals) Regs as did not show the awarding decision was mistaken about who the appellant was - poor quality of Secretary of State for Work and Pension appeal response to First-tier Tribunal (did not even refer to regulation 9(b)) - failure of First-tier Tribunal to interrogate Secretary of State Work and Pension's response and apply the correct law - failure of Secretary of State for Work and Pension to meet his obligations to supply First-tier Tribunal with all relevant documents - ought to have disclosed the "Trust and Protect" policy (which he did not even supply to the Upper Tribunal).
