The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by sections 106(3) and 325 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2) and of all other enabling powers:

1.  The Bedfordshire County Council (Leighton-Linslade Southern Bypass Yttingaford Bridge) Number Two Scheme 1985 is hereby confirmed without modifications.

2.  The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme") is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of this Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, and at the offices of the County Secretary and Solicitor, Bedfordshire County Council at County Hall, Bedford.

3.  The Scheme will come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

4.  This Instrument may be cited as the Bedfordshire County Council (Leighton-Linslade Southern Bypass Yttingaford Bridge) Number Two Scheme 1985 Confirmation Instrument 1987.

SCHEDULE TO THE INSTRUMENTBEDFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (LEIGHTON-LINSLADE SOUTHERN BYPASS YTTINGAFORD BRIDGE) NUMBER TWO SCHEME 1985

The Bedfordshire County Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") make this scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:-

1.  The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the Grand Union Canal the bridge specified in the Schedule to the Scheme as part of the highway which is to be known as the Leighton-Linslade Southern Bypass and which the Council propose to construct between the A418 Wing Road at the top of Wing Hill and the A5 Trunk Road at Thorn Turn passing south of Stanbridge and Tilsworth in the Counties of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

2.  This Scheme may be cited as the Bedfordshire County Council (Leighton-Linslade Southern Bypass Yttingaford Bridge) Number Two Scheme 1985.

Given under the Common Seal of the Council this 22nd day of November 1985.

SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEME

Plans and specifications of the New Roadbridge over the Grand Union Canal at Yttingaford in the District of Aylesbury Vale, County of Buckingshire.

POINTS OF COMMENCEMENT AND TERMINATION

The new bridge will be constructed approximately 60 metres eastwards of the junction of Ledburn Road and Mentmore Road. The bridge will carry the highway described in Article 1 of this Order over both the River Ouzel which is situated to the east of the Grand Union Canal and the said canal. The location of the bridge and the dimensions of the bridge are shown on the drawing number LL/1/316/2.

Construction

PCC Beam deck with reinforced concrete piers.

Mean Water Level

82.53 metres AOD.

Span

22.5 metres square span.

Headway

Not less than 4.6 metres.

Waterway

16.5 metres.
