Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order designates, for the purposes of section 127 of the Education Reform Act 1988, certain staff who work at specified maintained further education institutions (which are to be conducted by higher education corporations from 1st April 1989) but do not work solely at those institutions.

Section127 substitutes the higher education corporations for the local education authority as the employer of the persons so designated, as well as of those persons who are employed to work solely at such institutions, from that date.
