The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:-�
1. The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan, shall cease to be a trunk road and become an unclassified road as from the date on which this Order comes into force.
2. In this Order:-�
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/2/WO 125 marked The Swansea-�Manchester Trunk Road (A483) (Llandovery County Primary School Layby Detrunking) Order 1998 signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(ii)"the trunk road" means the Swansea-�Manchester Trunk Road (A483).
3. This Order shall come into force on 16th December 1998 and may be cited as The Swansea-�Manchester Trunk Road (A483) (Llandovery County Primary School Layby Detrunking) Order 1998.

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length being the layby adjacent to Llandovery County Primary School commencing at its junction with Stone Street (B4344) and extending in a northeasterly direction for about 0.072 kilometres.
