The A449 Trunk Road (A5 Gailey Roundabout to the A34 Queensway, Stafford) (Detrunking) Order 2002

  Made 26th April 2002 
  Coming into force 17th May 2002 

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: - 

     1. This Order may be cited as the A449 Trunk Road (A5 Gailey Roundabout to the A34 Queensway, Stafford) (Detrunking) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 17th May 2002.

    
2. In this Order - 

     3. The length of the trunk road route described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Order comes into force.

THE SCHEDULE

LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD


The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road starts from the northern boundary of the A5 Gailey roundabout, and does not include the circulatory carriageway (starting point marked "A" on the plan), and continues in a northerly direction, through the District of South Staffordshire in the County of Staffordshire, to a point on the southern boundary of the A449/M6 Junction 13 roundabout (marked "B" on the plan) and does not include the circulatory carriageway, and from a point on the northern boundary of the A449/M6 Junction 13 roundabout (marked "C" on the plan) in a northerly direction through the Districts of South Staffordshire and Stafford in the County of Staffordshire, finishing at a point on the southern boundary of the junction with the A34 Queensway, Stafford (marked "D" on the plan). It is shown by broad black dashes on the plan and is approximately 18.3 kilometres (11.40 miles) in length.
