The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 24 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and extent

- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fines (Deductions from Income Support) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 20th June 2003.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales only.
Amendment of the Fines (Deductions from Income Support) Regulations 1992

The Fines (Deductions from Income Support) Regulations 1992[2] are amended as follows -
(a) in regulation 1(2) in the definition of "application" omit "in the form and";
(b) in regulation 3(1) omit "shall be made in the form set out in Schedule 3, or a form to like effect, and"; and
(c) omit Schedule 3 to the Regulations.
Revocations

In the State Pension Credit (Consequential, Transitional and Miscellaneous) Provisions Regulations 2002[3] paragraph (6) of regulation 32 (Amendment of the Fines (Deductions from Income Support) Regulations 1992) is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Fines (Deductions from Income Support) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/2182) by removing for magistrates' courts in England and Wales the requirement to use a prescribed form when making an application to the Secretary of State for deductions from income support or jobseeker's allowance. The Schedule that contains the form is also omitted.
Regulation 3 revokes a provision of the State Pension Credit (Consequential, Transitional and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2002 which amends the Schedule containing the prescribed form and which would have come into force on 6th October 2003.
These Regulations does not impose a charge on business.
