"Recognised bodies" are universities, colleges or other bodies which are authorised by Royal Charter or by or under Act of Parliament to grant degrees and other bodies for the time being permitted by those bodies to act on their behalf in the granting of degrees.
This Order amends the Education (Listed Bodies) (England) Order 2004 to remove Kent Institute of Art and Design, Edge Hill College of Higher Education, Laban Centre, London, The Surrey Institute of Art and Design, the Southampton Institute and York St John College from the list of bodies appearing to the Secretary of State to fall within (a) above. It also removes University of Wales, Cardiff and University of Wales, College of Medicine from the list of bodies appearing to the Secretary of State to fall within (b) above. It also reflects the fact that Trinity College of Music has changed its name.
A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business or charities.
