LICENSING (LIQUOR)
The Blackpool Airport Licensing (Liquor) Order 2005

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 87 of the Licensing Act 1964 [1], and now vested in him [2].
In accordance with section 87 of that Act he is satisfied that:
(a) Blackpool Airport is an airport at which there is a substantial amount of international passenger traffic, and
(b) arrangements have been made for affording reasonable facilities on licensed premises within the examination station approved for that airport under section 22 of the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 [3] for obtaining hot and cold beverages other than intoxicating liquor at all times when intoxicating liquor is obtainable on those premises.
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as The Blackpool Airport Licensing (Liquor) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 16th November 2005.

This Order brings Section 87 of the Licensing Act 1964 into operation at Blackpool Airport.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
Section 87 of the Licensing Act 1964 provides that, at an international airport where that section is in operation, section 59 of that Act (which prohibits the sale of intoxicating liquor except during permitted hours) shall not apply to licensed premises which are within the examination station approved for the airport under section 22 of the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979.
This Order brings section 87 of the Licensing Act 1964 into operation at Blackpool Airport.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
