The Anti-Slavery Day Act 2010 (Specified Date) Order 2010

Coming into force in accordance with Article 1

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 1(1) of the Anti-Slavery Day Act 2010(1), makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Anti-Slavery Day Act 2010 (Specified Date) Order 2010 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Specified Date

2. The date specified to be observed each year as Anti-Slavery Day is 18th October.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Anti-Slavery Day Act 2010 introduced a national day to raise awareness of the need to combat slavery, human trafficking and exploitation.

This Order specifies that 18th October shall be observed each year as Anti-Slavery Day.

A full Impact Assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
