EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Postal Services Act 2011 creates a special administration regime, the objective of which is to secure the continued provision of postal services on the insolvency of a universal service provider.

Article 2 inserts a paragraph into the Judgments Enforcement (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 to stay enforcement of judgements for an extended period where there is a reasonable likelihood that an application will be made to the court for a postal administration order under Part 4 of the 2011 Act.

No impact assessment has been prepared for this Order as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.

An Explanatory Memorandum has been prepared and is available alongside this Order at www.legislation.gov.uk.
