The A10 London-Cambridge-King's Lynn Trunk Road (A47 King's Lynn to A14 Milton, Cambridgeshire) Detrunking Order 2001

  Made 14th February 2001 
  Coming into force 1st May 2001 

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf.

     1. This Order may be cited as the A10 London-Cambridge-King's Lynn Trunk Road (A47 King's Lynn to A14 Milton, Cambridgeshire) (Detrunking) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st May 2001.

    
2. In this Order - 

(i)     

"the plan" means the plan numbered L306GB/401/A140/6-11, marked A10 Trunk Road London-Cambridge-King's Lynn Trunk Road (A47 King's Lynn to A14 Milton, Cambridgeshire) Detrunking Order 2001 signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Highways Agency, Room G44, St Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE;
(ii)     

"principal road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and
(iii)     

"the trunk road" means the A10 trunk road.

    
3. From the date when this Order comes into force the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road.

THE SCHEDULE

LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD


     1. The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between a point at the A47/A10 Hardwick roundabout to and including the A14/A10 Milton roundabout and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan; and

     2. The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between a point at the edge of the slip road adjoining the A10 to the end of the said slip road where it joins the land owned by Tesco.
