NORTHERN IRELAND

The Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998 (Accounts and Audit) Order 2001

  Made 23rd February 2001 
  Laid before Parliament 12th March 2001 
  Coming into force 30th March 2001 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred on him by paragraph 12(6) of Schedule 1 to the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998[1], hereby makes the following order:

Citation and commencement
     1. This order may be cited as the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998 (Accounts and Audit) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 30th March 2001.

Amendment of Paragraph 12 of Schedule 1
     2. In paragraph 12 of Schedule 1 to the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998, for sub-paragraph (5) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph:

Revocation
     3. The Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998 (Accounts and Audit) Order 2000[2] is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)


This Order amends the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998.

Paragraph 12(5) of Schedule 1 to that Act as amended provides that the financial year of the Parades Commission for Northern Ireland (established by section 1 of the Act) shall be the period of 12 months ending on 31st March. This order amends that paragraph to make it clear that the financial year which commenced on 1st January 2000 shall end on 31st March 2001.

The Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998 (Accounts and Audit) Order 2000 is revoked.
