Whereas the Secretary of State took steps to initiate a review under the Validation, Implementation and Review section of the Belfast Agreement, as required by section 2(1) of the Northern Ireland Act 2000[1], and has taken into account the result of that review;

     And whereas the Secretary of State considers it expedient for this Order to be made without a draft thereof having been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:

     Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2(2) of the Northern Ireland Act 2000, hereby makes the following Order:

     1. This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Restoration of Devolved Government) (No.2) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 23rd September 2001.

     2. Section 1 of the Northern Ireland Act 2000 shall cease to have effect on 23rd September 2001.

     3. The Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Suspension of Devolved Government) (No.2) Order 2001[2] is hereby revoked.
